My Fave 5 games of EGX Rezzed
So EGX Rezzed 2016 is now over and I had a fantastic time over the weekend trying out lots of upcoming indie games over the next year or so. Without further ado I present in no real order my top 5 faves of EGX Rezzed 2015.
Bear's Can't Drift
We looked at "Bear's Can't Drift" a long time ago but we are almost at the game's final release as well as release on PS4. This is definitely the best Kart Racer on the PC you can buy and the game has been made with such love that it is an absolute joy to play and experience. Best of all you can buy it right now and I would recommend you do.
Expeditions: Vikings is a sequel to the 2013 strategy game Expeditions: Conquistador. Now I am not usually a massive fan of these types of games but this game really drew me in even in during the 30mins hands on I had with it at the show. You take the lead of a Viking Clan attempting to being honour to your clan and prove yourself to your doubters. The thing that impressed me the most was the way quests could be completed in multiple ways. I needed to gain access to a cave that was blocked by guards and I could choose to fight, choose to sacrifice a villager to the Gods or in my case bribe my way in by convincing a villager to give me papers claiming I am allowed access. Combat is good and I look forward to enjoying the game in more depth when it comes out.
The current build of a game produced at a Sumo Digital game jam, Snake Pass is now a N64 inspired 3D “action-puzzle” game. rather than jumping you navigate the 3D world like a snake and this really adds a unique element to the game. A fantastic game which I really enjoyed my time with and I can't wait to feature on the site.
A game I really enjoyed at EGX last year Unbox is rapidly becoming one of the most polished and innovative platformers I have seen in recent years. As a automated delivery box that must go around the stage delivery parcels the game draws you in with its cute style and excellent game-play.
I love Power Stone and it is probably one of if not my favourite beat-em-up of all time and Last Fight really is a spiritual successor to that long forgotten franchise. I had an absolute blast playing the game and cannot wait to see it develop over the coming months.
